Prayer Requests

I am a huge believer in the power of prayer. Seriously, that stuff is awesome! Anyway, life is tough and we all need help getting through it. Therefore, I have created this page as a place to communicate to you all what I need help with at the moment.

If you are struggling with something, and would like me to pray for you, send me an email at [LUCIWALKS at GMAIL dot COM].

Prayer Requests

December 10, 2008

  • First, a HUGE thank you to those of you who prayed for me on the Camino. Hopefully I was able to communicate through this blog just how much of a blessing the journey was. Thank you for your prayers. They were heard and answered, every one of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
  • Now that I have returned, my prayers focus on how I can continue to glorify God as I live in the unknown.
  • Please pray that I am able to discern God’s calling for my life.
  • Please pray that I continue to love God as He yearns to be loved.
  • Please pray that I find direction in searching for a new job and career.
  • Finally, I would appreciate prayers for patience as I wait in faith and hope on God’s timing.

September 7, 2008

  • First and foremost, please pray that God prepares me for the pilgrimage. That includes physical, mental, emotional, and especially spiritual preparation. I want to be ready for whatever happens.
  • Please pray for my spiritual enrichment. I am doing this pilgrimage to draw closer to God and to glorify him.
  • Please pray for physical safety — pray against injury, that my body will hold up over the course of 500 miles, and that I arrive each night, safe and sound, to a place I can rest my head.
  • Please pray that I pick up the Spanish language as quickly as possible, and for my communication with other people.
  • Please pray that I am filled with patience and grace, especially during those times when I least feel like it.
  • Please pray for the people I am about to meet, for the “community” that awaits all of us on the Camino.
  • Please pray that I walk the Camino that God wants me to walk.
  • Please pray for my return to “real life” after the Camino, for gentle ease back into every day life, and for patience and grace as I prepare to face my unknown future.

Thanks!

    Luci,

I am so excited for you to have this opportunity! I will certainly be praying for you that you will not grow weary in well doing (Gal. 6:9), that your heart and your flesh will cry out to the living God (Ps. 84:2b) in times of need, & that when you walk through the “valley/ies of weeping” the Lord will enable you to make it a place of refreshing springs (Ps. 84:6).

I’d like to leave you with a couple of verses that may be a real blessing for you at this time because you may find them very fitting for what you may encounter over the next 50 days…..may you find encouragement & strength in them.
Ps. 84:5…..Blessed (Happy) are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
1 John 2:6….Whoever claims to live in Him (God) must walk as Jesus did.

Can’t wait to hear of all the wonderful things the Lord will teach you on this exciting adventure! Have a blast!
    Joy, Kim Willis

    Luci:

Congrat’s on your new adventure; I hope you find what you are looking for. Just remember, whatever it is in your life that you may need or ask help on, this verse seems to fit: “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me” Phil 4:13

Have a grand, fun time! I enjoyed th eblog thus far, and can’t wait to hear more (or for the book to come out!!)!!

    Your friend, Anna

  5. Laurie Tucker Says:

    Luci,
I pray that every step you take grounds you into the oneness of God and creation. I pray that every lifting of your foot out of that groundedness instills in you a deep longing for the next step. I am enjoying your blog and am mentally walking with you through your days. I have been in awe of the amounts you are covering each day, but my respect grew today after walking all over Allerton Park. My knees salute you! Please tell Ann of my prayers and hopes also.
